Anna Simi

Certified & Registered Yoga Teacher

I began my yoga journey over ten years ago and have been in love ever since! Ashtanga Yoga was my first experience on the mat but now my practice is influenced by many other styles. Yoga has become part of who I am. Yoga means so much more to me than a series of poses or a physical practice. To me yoga is a feeling. It is a lifestyle and an ancient practice that I have come to love and trust.

I completed my yoga teacher training with Marni Task at The Yoga Room in Cleveland's Little Italy and it changed my life! I am officially certified in Jivasara Yoga (Jivamukti + Anusara Yoga). My goal as a yoga teacher is to share the feeling yoga gives me with my students. I don’t believe you can be good or bad at yoga.  You are exactly where you are supposed to be in YOUR practice at this moment. Where ever you are there you are. My classes are inspired by Ashtanga, Anusara, and Jivamukti Yoga. I always say the hardest part about yoga is showing up! In my classes and I speak from my heart and am myself. I like to remind my students to lead with their heart and not their head (ego). Come from a place of love and all else will follow!

Outside of yoga I am passionate about music, exploring nature, traveling and connecting with beautiful people. I also love to laugh and the small things in life excite me!

My favorite yoga quote from the Bhagavad Gita that continues to inspire me: "On this path no effort is wasted, no gain is ever reversed; even a little of this practice will shelter you from great sorrow.”

The best thing about yoga is…  the way it makes me feel.

Without yoga... I would not have the same confidence.

I am not defined by… the color of my yoga mat.

Love is... already within us. Love is... our true nature.

The best hugs are… the ones that end in a tight squeeze!

The best time of day is… at night when everything is still and at peace from the day.

I heart Cleveland because… the best people are from Cleveland!

Locally you might find me… in Gordon Square or at an Indians Game with my sister.

If I could live anywhere, I'd live… in a Tiny House in the Mountains!

To keep things interesting... I travel as much as I can. Road trips are my favorite especially when live music or camping is our destination! Traveling is good for the soul.

Three words to describe your teaching style? Intuitive, genuine & fun.
